The obligation
A PCBU must ensure health monitoring of asbestos workers reviews their history and exposure records and includes a physical examination.
Unless a medical practitioner recommends another type of health monitoring, it must consider the worker's demographic, medical and occupational history and records of the worker's personal exposure to asbestos. It must also include a physical examination of the worker. A medical practitioner is a health practitioner registered, or deemed registered, with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a practitioner of medicine.
