The obligation
PCBUs must provide workers with information, training and instruction on violence and aggression risks, control measures, reporting procedures and emergency responses.
The Code obliges PCBUs to ensure workers are adequately informed and trained in: the nature and sources of violence and aggression risks at their workplace; the controls in place and how to apply them; de-escalation techniques and verbal/non-verbal communication strategies; reporting procedures; and emergency response actions. Training must be tailored to the specific work environment and roles, and refreshed as risks or procedures change.
