The obligation
The Code sets out duties and practical guidance for the safe erection, climbing, and dismantling of tower cranes, including competency, supervision, and plant-registration requirements.
PCBUs responsible for tower crane erection, climbing, and dismantling must follow the Code's guidance on: selecting a competent and licensed erection team; preparing the site and foundations; managing exclusion zones; ensuring the crane has current plant design registration; complying with the manufacturer's erection/dismantling manual; and conducting pre-erection inspections. Dismantling must be planned with equivalent rigour.
