The obligation
PCBUs in WA must identify and manage psychosocial hazards under the WHS Act 2020 and WHS (General) Regulations 2022, effective 1 December 2022 for express psychosocial provisions.
The Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 (WA) introduced express psychosocial risk provisions commencing 1 December 2022. PCBUs must identify psychosocial hazards and risks, implement controls using the hierarchy of controls, consult workers, and review controls. The 2024 Code of Practice provides an approved practical guide on compliance. Failure to comply can attract penalties under the WHS Act 2020 (WA).
