The obligation
The Code applies to persons with management or control of workplaces with cooling towers, evaporative condensers, air-handling systems, heated/cold water systems, and spas in WA.
The WorkSafe WA Code of Practice (2010) binds anyone who manages or controls a WA workplace containing systems capable of dispersing water droplets (cooling towers, evaporative condensers, humidifiers, spa pools, heated/cold water systems). Compliance is required under the OSH Act 1984 (WA) framework. The Code operates alongside the Health (Air Handling and Water Systems) Regulations 1994 and AS/NZS 3666.
