The obligation
Duty holders must establish and maintain a written risk management program identifying hazardous water systems, assessing risk, and implementing control measures.
The Code requires duty holders to develop a documented Legionella risk management program covering: identification of all at-risk water systems, risk assessment, implementation of control measures (temperature control, biocide treatment, physical cleaning), and review. The program must be site-specific and reviewed after any significant change to the system or following a positive Legionella result. Failure to maintain the program may constitute a breach of the OSH Act 1984.
