The obligation
PCBUs must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, safe layout, work space, floors and surfaces, lighting, ventilation and conditions for work in extremes of heat or cold.
Lighting must enable each worker to work safely, people to move around safely and safe evacuation in an emergency. Workplaces must be ventilated so work can be carried out without risk to health and safety; fresh, clean air should be drawn from outside and circulated through the workplace. Ventilation may be natural, mechanical, standalone air-conditioning or part of an HVAC system.
