The obligation
PCBUs must, so far as reasonably practicable, manage the risk of falls at workplaces under the WHS (General) Regulations 2022, using hierarchy of controls including fall prevention devices, work positioning systems, and fall arrest systems.
Under the Work Health and Safety Act (WA) and WHS (General) Regulations 2022, PCBUs must ensure work involving fall risk is carried out on the ground or on solid construction where practicable, provide safe means of access and egress, and minimise fall risk through a fall prevention device, work positioning system, or fall arrest system in that order of preference. The approved Code of Practice provides the compliance pathway.
