The obligation
Operators must establish systematic monitoring, inspection regimes, and periodic review cycles for ground conditions, reporting outcomes and triggering controls as required.
The Code requires mine operators to implement ongoing monitoring of ground conditions, conduct regular inspections by competent personnel, and review GCMP effectiveness at defined intervals or when trigger conditions arise (e.g. seismic events, unplanned failures, changes in mining method or geometry). Monitoring data must be recorded and accessible. Findings that indicate elevated risk must prompt documented corrective action.
