The obligation
Victorian PCBUs must identify and assess psychosocial hazards at work under the OHS (Psychological Health) Regulations 2025, in addition to existing physical hazard obligations.
The OHS (Psychological Health) Regulations 2025 impose a duty on PCBUs to identify psychosocial hazards (e.g. job demands, low support, workplace conflict, traumatic events) and assess the risks they create. Assessment must consider how hazards interact and the nature, frequency, and duration of exposure. This elevates psychosocial risk management to the same level as physical risk under Victorian OHS law.
