Part 4.4 sets duties for identifying, registering, controlling and removing asbestos at workplaces.
Persons who manage or control workplaces, and employers, must identify asbestos, keep asbestos registers current and control risk. Division 6 covers identifying and removing asbestos before demolition or refurbishment, and notice to the Authority. An asbestos removal licence holder must ensure the supervisor of Class B removal work is readily accessible whenever that work is performed. Before asbestos removal work starts, an employer must inform employees in the immediate and adjacent areas.
