Requires persons performing specified high-risk work (e.g. scaffolding, rigging, forklift, crane operation, pressure equipment) to hold a current high-risk work licence.
Part 3.1 of the OHS Regulations 2017 imposes a duty on persons to hold a valid high-risk work (HRW) licence before performing defined classes of high-risk work. Employers must not direct or allow unlicensed persons to perform such work. Classes include scaffolding, rigging, dogging, crane and hoist operation, forklift operation, and boiler/pressure plant operation. Licences are issued by WorkSafe Victoria and must be carried on-site.
