The obligation
Where asbestos/ACM is identified at a Victorian workplace, a written asbestos management plan must be prepared, implemented, and reviewed at least every 5 years.
OHS Regulations 2017 Part 4.4 and the compliance code require a written asbestos management plan wherever asbestos/ACM is present. The plan must set out how the risk of exposure will be managed, identify who is responsible, include arrangements for informing workers and contractors, specify procedures for incidents, and be reviewed at least every 5 years or following any disturbance, removal, or change in control of the workplace.
