The obligation
The 2021 code includes a section on information, instruction, training and supervision for all employees, including recognising their first aid officers.
This section replaced the 2008 code's 'employee awareness' section and includes general information consistent with other compliance codes. It adds information about the importance of employees being able to recognise their first aid officers. The code also covers additional training that may need to be considered for first aid officers, including training to assist a person experiencing a mental health crisis in the workplace.
