The obligation
PCBUs must immediately notify WorkSafe Tasmania of a notifiable incident (death, serious injury/illness, or dangerous incident) and preserve the incident site.
Sections 35–38 require PCBUs to immediately notify the WHS regulator (WorkSafe Tasmania) of a notifiable incident — being a death of a person, serious injury or illness of a person, or a dangerous incident arising from work. Written notice must follow within 48 hours. The incident site must be preserved until an inspector attends or directs otherwise, except to assist injured persons or make the site safe. Failure to notify is a Category 2 offence.
