Where multiple PCBUs share management or control of a workplace, each must cooperate with the others so far as is reasonably practicable to meet their respective WHS duties.
The WHS Act 2012 (Tas) imposes a duty to cooperate on each PCBU whose work activities interact or overlap with another PCBU at the same workplace. The Code provides guidance on how to discharge this duty in practice: sharing information about hazards and risks; jointly developing safe work procedures; and maintaining communication channels. This duty is independent of—but linked to—the coordination duty.
