Tasmania adopts the model Code of Practice providing PCBUs with practical guidance on eliminating or minimising sexual and gender-based harassment risks at work.
Tasmania has adopted the SafeWork Australia Model Code of Practice: Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (Tas). The Code sets out how PCBUs must identify, assess and control the risk of sexual and gender-based harassment at work, including consultation obligations, risk control hierarchy, and the duty to implement a prevention plan. It applies to all Tasmanian workplaces. Non-compliance with the Code can be used as evidence in WHS proceedings.
