The obligation
Requirements to obtain, amend, or renew environmental approvals before carrying out scheduled waste management activities in Tasmania under the Waste Management Regulations.
Regulation 22 and surrounding provisions require operators of waste management activities to hold a current environmental approval granted under the Regulations. Approvals may be amended, cancelled, or suspended by the EPA Tasmania. Operators must notify the EPA of material changes and comply with approval conditions. Failure to hold an approval or breach of conditions constitutes an offence under EMPCA.
