The obligation
A business that manages or controls a workplace, or fixtures, fittings or plant at a workplace, must ensure so far as is reasonably practicable they are without risks to any person.
Under section 20, the person with management or control of a workplace must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the workplace, the means of entering and exiting it and anything arising from it are without risks to the health and safety of any person. Under section 21, the person with management or control of fixtures, fittings or plant at a workplace must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that they are without risks to the health and safety of any person.
