The Code requires PCBUs to manage risks from hazardous chemicals used in spray painting (solvents, resins, isocyanates) and powder coating (epoxy, polyester powders). Duties include obtaining and reviewing Safety Data Sheets, applying the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering controls such as spray booths and LEV, administrative controls, and RPE/PPE), and ensuring workers are trained in chemical handling and emergency procedures.
