The obligation
PCBUs must manage risks associated with remote or isolated work, including procedures for regular contact and emergency response for workers who work alone or in remote locations.
The Code requires PCBUs to identify and manage the specific hazards faced by remote and isolated workers, including lack of immediate assistance in an emergency. PCBUs must implement a system of regular contact with remote/isolated workers and procedures to respond if a worker cannot be contacted. Risk management must be so far as is reasonably practicable and should be developed in consultation with affected workers.
