Following the 2018 review of the model WHS laws, Safe Work Australia published a revised model code in March 2022 to implement recommendations 6, 7a and 11. Queensland has updated its Code to reflect the model code; the changes are not substantive policy changes. The update clarifies that a PCBU may establish a health and safety committee on its own initiative, and that consultation arrangements take into account the complexity, frequency and urgency of issues.
