Tower cranes must be registered with the WHS regulator before first use in Queensland. The registration holder must maintain the crane in a safe condition. Crane operators must hold a high-risk work licence for the relevant class of tower crane. Erection and dismantling work additionally requires a dogging or rigging licence at the appropriate level. These requirements are prescribed by the WHS Regulation and reinforced by the Code.
