The obligation
PCBUs and persons with management or control must ensure erection and dismantling is performed by competent persons following the manufacturer's instructions and an engineered methodology.
The Code requires that erection, jumping, and dismantling of tower cranes be carried out only by competent persons, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or an engineer-approved methodology. A written erection and dismantling plan must be prepared. The PCBU must ensure adequate supervision and that all persons involved hold relevant high-risk work licences (dogging/rigging) as required under the WHS Regulation.
