The obligation
The Code prescribes requirements for safe lifting of tilt-up and pre-cast panels, including crane capacity, rigging, lifting inserts, and SWMS obligations.
All panel lifting must be performed using cranes and rigging equipment that is correctly rated for the load. Lifting inserts must be verified compatible with the clutch system used. A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is required and workers must agree to perform work in accordance with it. Special provision must be made to prevent lateral displacement at the panel base during lifting.
