The Code requires PCBUs to identify all hazardous substances (paints, solvents, powders, resins) and assess exposure risks. Controls must follow the hierarchy: elimination, substitution, isolation, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE. Safety Data Sheets must be obtained and maintained. Workplace exposure standards under the WHS Regulation must not be exceeded. Health monitoring may be required for workers exposed to specific chemicals.
