The code commenced on 1 July 2021, except section 2.7.1.1, which had a delayed commencement. The Work Health and Safety (Codes of Practice) (Scaffolding) Amendment Notice 2021 revoked the Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009 and approved the 2021 code. The code followed a review of the 2009 code by an industry steering group.
