The obligation
Mobile cranes rated over 10t must have their design registered, and an altered design must be registered if the change may affect health or safety.
Design registration is not needed where the design is already registered under a corresponding WHS law. An application must include a signed designer statement, a design verification statement, representational drawings and the fee. A person involved in designing part of the plant must not make the design verification statement for that part. A design registration certificate stops having effect if the design is changed in a way that may affect the safety of operators or nearby workers.
