The obligation

A PCBU must, so far as reasonably practicable, provide and maintain a work environment without risks to health and safety, including adequate welfare facilities.

Under the WHS Act 2011 (Qld) and this Code, a PCBU must so far as reasonably practicable: provide adequate and accessible welfare facilities (toilets, drinking water, washing and dining); maintain work environments, plant and structures without risks; ensure safe use/handling/storage of plant and substances; provide adequate information, training and supervision; and monitor worker health and workplace conditions. The Code provides practical guidance on satisfying this primary duty.
