The obligation
Certain items of plant and plant designs must be registered; the list of registrable plant is in Appendix B of the Code.
Registrable plant designs must be design registered before being supplied, and registrable items of plant must be item registered before being commissioned for use by a PCBU. The original designer or a person with management or control of the plant may apply for design registration. Item registration applies to each specific item of plant and is intended to ensure it is inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate.
