The obligation
PCBUs must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the information, instruction, training and supervision needed to protect people from work risks.
Information, training or instruction must be suitable and adequate having regard to the nature of the work, its risks and the control measures implemented. The Code recommends it covers emergency and rescue procedures, reporting fall hazards and incidents, and correct selection, fitting, use, inspection and maintenance of fall arrest and restraint equipment. Workers exposed to a fall risk should be supervised by a competent person, especially if training or unfamiliar with the work environment.
