The obligation
PCBUs storing hazardous chemicals above manifest quantities must comply with storage, segregation, and placarding requirements under the code and WHS Regulation 2011 (Qld).
The code gives guidance on safe storage of hazardous chemicals, including segregation of incompatible chemicals, spill containment, ventilation and ignition source control. Where placard quantities are exceeded, placards are required; where manifest quantities are exceeded, PCBUs must prepare a manifest and notify WorkSafe Queensland. Quantities are set in Schedule 11, manifest content in Schedule 12 and placard requirements in Schedule 13 of the WHS Regulation 2011 (Qld).
