The Recreational Diving, Recreational Technical Diving and Snorkelling Code of Practice 2024 remakes the 2018 Code and has been in effect since 1 August 2024.
The Code provides guidance for dive operators on how to meet the requirements of the Act and Regulation for recreational diving and snorkelling activities. Its key updates address coronial recommendations regarding risk assessments and supervision of divers, and incorporate industry feedback and consequential changes from the remade Regulation. The Code of Practice is not law, but it is admissible in court proceedings.
