A licensed asbestos removalist must ensure each worker is certified for the class of removal work and is trained to follow the workplace's asbestos removal control plan.
A licensed asbestos removalist cannot direct or permit a worker to do licensed asbestos removal work without being satisfied that the worker is certified for the class of work involved. Depending on the type of work, workers need certification in the specified VET course for either Class A or Class B asbestos removal. In Queensland, anyone supervising Class A removal work must be certified in the specified VET course for supervising asbestos removal.
