The obligation
The Code covers children and young workers at Queensland workplaces, whether they are there as workers or for another reason.
Section 3 of the Code deals with children at the workplace as workers; Section 4 covers children there who are not workers, such as visitors or children who live at a workplace. The Code uses the WHS Act definition of a workplace: a place where work is carried out for a business or undertaking, including any place a worker goes, or is likely to be, while at work. Certain workplaces, such as mines, are not covered by the Code.
