The Environment Protection Act 2019 (NT) replaced the Environment Assessment Act 1982. It establishes the general environmental duty, environmental impact assessment processes, codes of practice, ministerial policies, and enforcement powers. Duty-holders include businesses, developers, and individuals undertaking activities with potential environmental impact in the NT.
