The obligation
PCBUs must establish, document and practise emergency and rescue procedures for each confined space.
The NT Confined Spaces Code of Practice requires PCBUs to establish first aid and rescue procedures to be followed in the event of an emergency in a confined space. These procedures must be practised as necessary. Adequate rescue equipment and trained personnel must be available before entry is permitted. Failure to have practiced emergency procedures in place is a breach of the Code.
