The container deposit scheme pays refund amounts to people depositing empty beverage containers at collection points, subject to set exclusions.
The scheme provides for refund amounts to be paid to persons depositing empty beverage containers that are subject to the scheme at collection points. Operators need not pay where they reasonably believe the container was acquired outside NSW or a corresponding-law jurisdiction, was acquired before the Part commenced, or was already refunded or processed by a material recovery facility.
