From 1 July 2026, NSW legislative amendments impose a duty on PCBUs to comply with the Sawmilling Industry Code of Practice or demonstrate an equivalent or higher standard of health and safety.
Legislative changes to the WHS Act 2011 (NSW) effective 1 July 2026 elevate the legal status of approved codes of practice: PCBUs must either comply with the Sawmilling Industry Code of Practice (May 2026) or demonstrate a standard of health and safety equivalent to or higher than the Code.
