The obligation
Upper Hunter licence holders must pay an environmental monitoring levy for the Upper Hunter monitoring program.
The levy for a levy period consists of an annual levy and a construction levy. The EPA must give each Upper Hunter licence holder written notice of the amount payable for a levy period. The levy must be paid within 30 days after the notice is given, or by a later date specified by the EPA in the notice. Upper Hunter licence holders must also provide information and assistance to the EPA.
