The obligation
Manufacturers and importers must review each SDS at least every 5 years and update it whenever new information about hazards or safe use becomes available.
The CoP requires that SDS be reviewed at least every 5 years, or sooner if new information emerges about the chemical's hazards, regulatory status, or safe-use guidance. Updated SDS must be provided to current customers on request. Failure to maintain current SDS constitutes a breach of the WHS Regulation 2017 (NSW). Duty-holders should maintain version-control records to demonstrate compliance.
