SafeWork NSW has adopted the national model Code of Practice for managing risks of respirable crystalline silica (RCS) in engineered stone workplaces. Published February 2026, it replaces earlier guidance and reflects the WHS Regulation 2025 (NSW). It applies to PCBUs who design, manufacture, import, supply or process engineered stone. The Code is admissible in proceedings as evidence of what is known about silica hazards; compliance with it is a practical means of meeting WHS Act duties.
