Under the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulation 2025 (Chapter 8A), the processing of engineered stone is prohibited unless controlled measures are in place. Engineered stone is defined as an artificial product combining natural stone materials with resins/pigments containing ≥1% crystalline silica. PCBUs must eliminate or minimise RCS exposure; if elimination is not reasonably practicable, respiratory protective equipment must be worn.
