The obligation
Plant must not be decommissioned or dismantled unless risks are managed SFAIRP, carried out by a competent person with all necessary safety information and inspection processes in place.
Under the Code (aligned to WHS Regulation clause 204), a PCBU must ensure: (a) decommissioning or dismantling is carried out without risks to health and safety SFAIRP; (b) the person performing the work is a competent person given all available safety information; and (c) the process includes inspections to ensure risks are minimised SFAIRP.
