The obligation
PCBUs must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the information, instruction, training or supervision needed to protect people from work risks, including falls.
The Code links this duty to WHS Act section 19 and WHS Regulation clause 39. Training for workers exposed to falls should cover PPE use and maintenance, the hazards of the work, safety procedures including any SWMS, and how to use fall protection measures. It should also cover emergency and rescue procedures, reporting fall hazards and incidents, and the care and inspection of fall arrest and restraint equipment. Supervisors should also receive training.
