The obligation
The WHS Regulation 2017 has been replaced by the WHS Regulation 2025. All stevedoring CoP obligations that cross-reference the 2017 Regulation must now be read against the 2025 Regulation.
The Work Health and Safety Regulation 2025 (NSW) replaced the 2017 Regulation. The Stevedoring Code of Practice references the 2017 Regulation throughout (noise, plant, chemicals, falls, confined spaces). PCBUs must ensure their WHS systems now reference and comply with the updated 2025 Regulation, which includes updated high-risk work standards, silica registry requirements, and mandatory psychosocial reporting for large PCBUs.
