A hazardous chemical label must be in English and include the product identifier, supplier details, pictograms, hazard statements, signal word and precautionary statements.
Under Schedule 9 of the WHS Regulation, a correctly labelled container includes the product identifier, the name, Australian address and business telephone number of the manufacturer or importer, and ingredient identity and proportion disclosed under Schedule 8. Hazard pictograms, hazard statements, signal word and precautionary statements must be consistent with the chemical's correct classification.
