The obligation
Before licensed asbestos removal starts, the removalist must inform the person with management or control of the workplace about the work and its start date.
At residential premises, the removalist must, so far as reasonably practicable, tell the person who commissioned the work, other PCBUs, the occupier, the owner and anyone occupying nearby premises. The person with management or control must then tell their workers, others at the workplace and the person who commissioned the work. They must also take all reasonable steps to tell other PCBUs at or near the workplace and anyone occupying premises in the immediate vicinity.
