The obligation
The SafeWork NSW Code of Practice: Formwork (March 2021) is an approved code of practice under section 274 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
Notice of approval was published in the NSW Government Gazette on Friday 26 June 2020, and the Code commenced on that day. It was amended in March 2021 to correct publishing errors and standardise terminology; the amendments do not change the requirements of the June 2020 Code. An approved code gives practical guidance on achieving the standards of work health and safety required under the WHS Act and WHS Regulation.
