The Food Regulation 2025 commenced on 1 September 2025 as SL 2025-0429, remaking and replacing the Food Regulation 2015. It is made under the Food Act 2003 (NSW) and aligns NSW food safety law with national reforms under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. The current compiled version applies from 1 March 2026. All food businesses previously regulated under the 2015 Regulation are now subject to the 2025 Regulation.
